Final development of my magazine

I have finally made it. Even though all the problems I have faced I have a magazine at last.
Anyways for my finishing touches I had to go onto photo-shop and change the gray background of my front cover image which is on the left. I did this by changing the temperature of the image as you can see on the right. Its a bit orange so I change the temperature too high. I change this again which can be seen on the bottom image and that is the image used on the front cover. With this image I also tidy up my model hair using the magic wand tool on photo-shop to erase the lose hairs and black dots on the image.

My final front page. The image I have used has a nice depth of field look and the way that the model is dressed fits my theme and will also attract my target audience as the model looks young and my audience will be more likely to buy the magazine if they see someone who looks the same age range as them. the colors and the fonts work together and help make the masthead and cover lines stand out with will help attract attention. I have made the masthead go all the way across the page as it stands out more which will grab the audiences attention.

OK onto my content page which I know most of you will be wondering why there only one picture well I don't think I could of put any more picture in without redesigning this whole page again. Plus I like how it is as it is. I have followed the conventions of the top of the pops magazine content as they have there front cover in there content page too. I think helps appeal to the target audience of a younger audience as its a visual thing which will help readers find the articles that attracted them to the magazine in the first place. The font stands out and fits in with the pop theme. The logo is like a brand which attracts my teenage audience as they like branded things. The colors again appeal to my female target audience. I have added a secondary image to my content page as it shows different verity of images in my magazine apart from just having leah. This also makes my magazine gender neutral as I included both female and male pictures in my magazine.

Here is my final Question and answer DPS. Ok I have made a pull quote have the text warped round it which looks better on the page then it did before. I made all the images and text boxes have borders going round them so they stand out more on the page. I re-sized the twitter logo to match the Facebook logo so it doesn't look messy. the DPS follows the colour scheme that was used through out my magazine.

Question and answers questions for my DPS

For my DPS I wanted a question and answer sort of page which is commonly seen in kids pop magazine. which is something which shows that my magazine is supplying the demand for my target audience of what they want to see in magazine.
(from Top of the pops magazine)

By doing this I had to create some questions that I had my model who did the photo-shoot answers, as the DPS was about her.

1. How do you feel about your new album and hit single?
2. What are your plans for the future?
3. What inspires you to write music
4. Who are your favorite bands/singers?
5. Where would you most like to preform?
6. Do you enjoy writing music and what songs have you written?
7. Who would you most likely open a live performance for?

Here are her answers:

I choose these questions as they link to music and are relevant to my magazine and link in with other question and answers questions that you see in other music magazine.

Evaluation question plan

Planing for my evaluation questions.

As my evaluation of my magazine have to be done through online methods rather then writing an essa I have a few ideas of what I can use to do my evaluations.

Pixton- is a sight were you can make online comics and ive just found out that I can embed them onto my blog. My idea with using this was to answer the evaluation question ''what have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product'' as I can get a comic with two charters talking about the magazine and telling each other the problems they have faced and how they have overcome them.
http://www.pixton.com/uk/

Here is a quite comic I made to get used to the program.

Photobucket- This is a sight were you can upload photos but has a section were you can make your story were it like a timeline/photo montage which I think will be good for the evaluation question ''looking back your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?'' as I can show my progression from were I started to when I finished by the program letting me annotate around the images

Draw my life- im not going to draw my life but I am going to draw on my white board and record it and them put it on my blog the question ''who would be the audience for your media product'' from doing this I get to draw things which I think will be cool to include on my blog.

Powtoons- is an animated way to present things, its a bit like power point but not. I was going to do the question ''how does your media product represent particular social groups. http://www.powtoon.com/

Youtube- I was going to record something and use you-tube to embed the video on to my blog. the video would consist of my using paper to visuals my evaluation question answer to ''in what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products''

Prezi- it was like power point again but on the internet- ''what kind of media institution might distribute your media products and why?''  http://prezi.com/your/

Stupeflix- I want to use stupeflix which is a websight were i can make pictures into videos to answer the question ''how did you attract/ address your audience''

Photoshop skills

BEFORE

This was the image that I used in my DPS. As you can see there is a little bit of flesh showing in the tummy area which will attract the attention of my audience so they won't be looking at the page itself but at this. So I just went on to Photoshop and painted over so it look like her top goes all the way down.

AFTER

You may not be able to see but you cant really tell that I went onto Photoshop at all when you look at the article which is a good thing :3

Making a album for my magazine for a free item

Now some magazine give away free things to get people to buy them and I have decided that I will also do that with a free album.

So I did some research into what album cover look like on Google. Pop related on to fit into my theme of a pop magazine.

I went on paint and choose an image. You have to re-size the image so it looks the right size for an album that you buy at a shop. You re-size it to 50/50 to make it small enough.

Then you add the text with the text tool.

This is were you can change the font and colour of the text you want. I decided to go with pink and blue as I have used pink and blue im my magazine.

Logo making for my magazine

My logo which I have drawn out in illustrator. I want to include the radio in my magazine as it goes with the pop theme of my magazine and acts as a visual element for my target audience.

I decided that I wanted a logo on my magazine as it make the magazine look more professional if you have something like a logo which can be used as a brand later. To do this I had to crop the image on Photoshop

With the croped image I decided to make the background a pink colour as pink is my main theme colour in my magazine to attract to the female audience of my target audience.

As you can see I started of with this shade of pink but then I change it to the other shade of pink to have an effect that the logo was drawn on to oppose to just copy on.

Im thinking for my front cover and DPS I will make this image transparent as at the moment with the pink background it does not fit in with the image background I have and it doesn't look right.
