Billboard Advert
There are not that many magazine bill board adverts to look at to follow the common conventions however looking at billboard adverts in genural there is a familiar patten that they all seem to follow.
- They normally have one bold image that fills up majority of the billboard which sells the product in question.
- Not much writing so whatever writing that on there it has to go straight to the point.
- Bold font that stands out on a bright background so that the two contrast against each other.
- Short and snappy sentences that grabs the attention of the target audience. Which include emotive language to engage the audience to the billboard add.
I did manage to find one billboard add which was aimed at selling magazines even through it was for a digital magazine.
With this add I really like how they positioned the page with all the font on the left hand side and the image on the right. The font itself really stands out well with the black/white on the bright orange background. Along with the font itself its clear and easy to read but bold enough for grabs people attention. One other thing which I like about this add is the little page furniture we have at the bottom which help promote the product and make it look more professional. The only problem with this billboard add is that its not clear what the address is as its not clear even in the image that is provided in the billboard add.
With my magazine billboard add I have to consider this magazine billboard add and take the good point from it and make sure that in my magazine my address is made clear.
As my target audience is mainly upper class females I decided to look at billboard ads which are aimed at this audience. So I decided to look at perfume ads; what I found with these however is that as the product itself is just a reselling of a brand name. The only thing on the ads where the name of the perfume and a model as a main image. What I did get from this was how big maybe my address would be so that it would be obvious to people who the add was for.
